CLASSES

We have created this one of a kind dance curriculum with all our littlest dancers in mind. Sparkle Steps incorporates movement, ballet, tap, acrobatics and rhythm all while keeping imagination and play as the catalysts to our tiny ones’ learning. We aim to teach the developing child first, the dancer second.  This is a customized curriculum that is exclusively taught only at TTP. With our many years of experience teaching little ones, we have put all of our knowledge into putting together a curriculum that will be the beginning instruction to your dancer’s future. Don’t miss out on being a part of it!

Here at TTP we want to offer the best dance education to every, single student.

That includes our teeniest, tiniest little ballerinas. We are so excited to introduce

our very own preschool dance curriculum, Sparkle Steps!

ACROBATICS

Age 3: 30 minutes  ///  Age 4 & up: 45 minutes

Acrobatic Dance, or Acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Often defined by unique choreography, acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line, and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context.

Acro is an especially challenging style for dancers to master, as training in both dance and acrobatic elements is required. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling, strength, and flexibility.

Our instructor is certified by Acrobatic Arts in Module One (Primary-Level 6) which covers the first half of the syllabus. Our teacher was trained in proper placement and technique for the foundtions of AcroDance including handstands, cartwheels, and bridges. Proper spotting techniques are to ensure student safety and proper technique in learning the skills. Building of the student’s strength, technique, and flexibility will promote the longevity of our dancers.

We are proud to be the only studio in the tri-parish that is certified in AcroDance.

When I first started looking for places to send my daughter for dancing, I knew I wanted an “at home” experience.

I wanted my daughter to learn the techniques of dance and be modest at the same time. We were told of TTP,

and attended their open house. Right from the start

we fell in love. My little was welcomed with open arms (and fruit snacks 😂). She was out of her comfort zone,

but in a good way. Allison went above and beyond of

what a dance instructor should be. She cares for the kids, loves on the kids, and looks at them as her own.

The assistants that help in the classes are so awesome with kids as well. My daughter comes home excited to

tell me what she’s learned. If you are looking for a

place to feel at home, loved, and keeping values and morals, TTP is the place to be!

Around three years ago, my daughter’s occupational therapist recommended that I consider enrolling her in a dance program. She thought that it would benefit her more than therapy given the nature of her motor delays. After some searching, we found a home at To the Pointe. My daughter will turn five years old in August and will begin her fourth year at To the Pointe in September. Not only has TTP helped her to overcome many of her motor delays, but it has also helped her to develop the confidence to keep up with her peers in physical activities and to try more new things than ever before. And through it all she has discovered a love for dance at a very young age. None of this would have been possible without the wonderful, dedicated teachers and helpers at TTP.

My 3.5 year old just starting dancing here and she already loves it so much! When we got home after her first class, she begged to go straight back. She talks about her teacher and how much she loves her, and it just

warms my heart that she feels so happy and comfortable in class already! Definitely worth the drive from

Houma to Thibodaux just for that! I would recommend

To The Pointe to everyone I know who wants to send

their little one to a dance class that will nurture their

love of dancing in a fun and loving atmosphere.
